Nuh Gedik
Nuh Gedik is a professor in the Department of Physics at MIT. He is an expert in the study of quantum materials using novel time-resolved techniques. His laboratory at MIT brings together unique methods that can probe and control excitations in quantum materials with time, energy and momentum resolutions. Using these techniques, his group made significant contributions to the understanding of topological materials, high temperature superconductors and atomically layered systems. aGedik received his BS in physics in 1998 from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, and his PhD in physics in 2004 from UC Berkeley. He worked as a postdoctoral scholar at Caltech until January 2008, when he joined the MIT Physics Department as an assistant professor. He was later promoted to associate professor and full professor. He is the recipient of a Sloan Fellowship, a National Science Foundation CAREER award, a Department of Energy Early Career, DARPA Young Faculty Awards, and a Biedenharn Career Development Professorship.
